Academic Audit

Dake recalls...

Sometime ago the author was confronted by a universty geologist who declared that of all the subjects he had ever encountered reservoir engineering was the one that stood in the greatest need of an "Academic Audit". In other words, its about time that someone stood up and made a clear pronoucement about what works and what does not amongst the myriad of theoretical papers and books on the subject. Unfortunately this is easier said than done because there is nobody in the business who knows, since we can never get down there in the reservoir and examine the insitu consequences of our eegant theories.
